Renaissance Community Services

2009 and before…

Historically, Renaissance Community Services (RCS) and Renaissance Christian Center (RCC) www.rencenn.org operated as one entity.  In 2008, this entity served over 800 meals.

The pace increased the following year as RCC through the RCS served over 1,000 prepared meals during the January to June 2009 timeframe.   In July 2009, RCS partnered with Nineveh Outreach and began distributing bags of groceries.  Our organization delivered 1,500 bags of groceries during the last six months of 2009.

2010

In February, RCS partnered with a different organization that provided greater opportunities for distribution of food.  With this relationship, we were able to distribute over 8,800 bags of groceries with a retail value of $315,000 to our community.  RCS worked feverously with other community service organizations to assist families in transitioning from homelessness to housing units.   RCS also makes referrals concerning energy audits and energy bill reductions.   RCS have reviewed over 300 cases for referral.  RCS continued to utilize other agencies including the City of Modesto, Modesto Irrigation District (MID), Community Assistance Project (SCAP), American Insulation and Disability Resource Agency for Independent Living (DRAIL)  to assist in overcoming barriers that contribute to desperate living conditions.

2011

We are looking forward to expanding our operation in this new year as the demand continues to increase as a result of economic conditions that currently prevail.
